Hello! I'm Leanne Clowes, an SSI Instructor Trainer specializing in Scuba, Basic Freediving, Classified Scuba, and Mermaid training. My passion for the underwater world has driven me to own several dive centers across the UK, where I dedicate my time to professional training and sharing my love for diving with others.

From the moment I took my first training course, I knew that this was more than just a hobby; it was my calling. Over the years, I have honed my skills and knowledge, becoming an Instructor Trainer to help others discover the joy and adventure that comes with exploring the depths of our oceans.

All About Me

Hello! I’m Leanne Clowes, My journey into the underwater world began unexpectedly during a holiday try dive experience. Unfortunately, my first attempt was less than ideal; I found the instruction lacking and didn’t feel safe. However, rather than letting this setback deter me, I decided to give scuba diving another chance upon returning home and I fell in love with it. The tranquility of being submerged underwater, gazing upwards, and connecting with the marine environment is an experience I will cherish forever.

 

While I continued my diving education, my career path took me through recruitment and management, where I developed a strong foundation in business operations. This diverse experience honed my skills and prepared me for the challenges of running a dive center.

 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I seized the opportunity to take my instructor course and initially established Palaemon Divers. Our location at the Liverpool Docks, right next to the iconic Liver Building, offered a unique backdrop for diving enthusiasts and the perfect setting for an unforgettable underwater selfie!

This quickly progressed to opening a second location in Warrington with a further staff team recruited to operate here. As well as 4 additional pool locations which were busy each week training all levels of diver from beginner to instructor.

With of of this, within my first year I was nominated as "North West - Dive Centre of the Year" and achieved the credential of most active dive centre for certifications. 

 

Following the success of Palaemon Divers, I merged with Clare’s Dive Centre to create Phoenix Watersports. This collaboration allows us to focus on targeted activities and a strategic business plan that will continue to evolve in the coming year.

 

In November 2023, I completed the SSI Instructor Trainer Course, which has enabled me to share my passion for diving instruction with like-minded individuals and assist them in developing their own centers. I am excited about the future and look forward to inspiring others to explore the wonders of the underwater world.
